Screen Shot 2018 09 24 at 7.22.47 AMHumans have built walls to protect themselves for ages: the Great Wall of China, the ancient walls of Istanbul, the huge walls of Sacsayhuamán in Peru, to name just a few.

Citizens of the US now want to build their wall. In their latest installment, Pat and Kate Scopelliti express their support of this historic project and explain why we need it now.

Pat and Kate Scopelliti are the authors of America First--The MAGA Manifesto: A Handbook for the 2018 Midterms and Beyond. The Foreword is written by LTG (Retired) Michael T. Flynn. Information about their book is available here

Build the Wall--Installment 6

Do you want The Wall built? We certainly do. When do you want it built? NOW is our answer. President Trump has been stating for years that a country without borders is not a nation. Do you agree with him? Our response is a resounding YES!

It is our observation that among the 10 MAGA points discussed in our book, America First - The MAGA Manifesto: A Handbook for the 2018 Midterms and Beyond, none whips up President Trump's passionate supporters like his promise to “Build the Wall.” Every rally the President holds proves that observation to be true. Don't We the People deserve the safety and security that strong borders provide?

Let's discuss President Trump's use of language on the topic of illegal immigration from the south. His detractors and their media minions distort and contort his words to suit their agenda. They huff and puff that our President is a racist. Their intent is to rob his supporters of a meaningful discussion on this extremely important topic. Certainly, no one wants to be labeled with the "r" word!

Here is a quote from candidate Donald Trump on June 16, 2015--the day he announced his run for the presidency:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

We don’t hear the mainstream media discuss the idea of Mexico intentionally sending its people across the border. Yet this is an absolutely fundamental point in determining our need for The Wall. When a nation becomes corrupt in the wholesale manner that Mexico has, it has no reticence whatsoever in exporting those deemed undesirable. It is only naivete or an agenda that prevents those of us living north of the border from seeing the actions of the Mexican government in this light. You can be assured that there is more than just "turning a blind eye" going on at the highest levels of power.

How might such actions occur? Human transport, human trafficking, and drug trafficking are gigantic businesses. You can be assured that the cartels and the local and federal police they control receive payments from every trafficker for every person and kilo carted northward. The government knows precisely how many and how much crosses the border and encourages their criminal element to emigrate. Might corrupt elements within their government require bribes or even receive a cut of the profits?  It's not beyond our imagining.

The simplicity of the President's statement above—“they're not sending their best’’--needs no interpretation. Of course, Mexico is not sending their doctors, lawyers, scientists, professors, or business magnates! The romantic liberal view that every person crossing the frontier is doing so in search of a better life is just not true.

Criminals from many parts of the world are literally attacking the nation by way of our open southern border. Would-be terrorists from nations whose governments despise us, opioid dealers whose pills destroy American lives, and gangs from Central America who literally cut out the hearts of their victims, all have access to us. This is an unacceptable and untenable situation.

And then there's the “they're rapists” comment that has caused all manner of horror and fury on the Left. Speaking in the everyman language as he does, President Trump felt no need to re-qualify, as experienced politicians do. The only intelligent and honest interpretation of his words is "some of them are rapists." But, of course, the dishonest media contorts his true meaning into the following hyperbole: All Mexican immigrants are rapists! Come on. Really? The assertion that President Trump actually believes and was labeling all Mexicans rapists is nothing but a pernicious lie. Calculated misinterpretation otherwise known as The Big Lie is an immoral tactic the Left utilizes constantly to control the narrative and then, the vote.

There is no lack of love for LEGAL immigrants in the President's words. He believes that those individuals --whatever their nationality, color or creed--who wish to live in the United States must enter legally. They must provide legal documents that prove who they are. They must be able to support themselves and must abide by our laws. They must be willing to accept our American culture as their own. It is what is expected of an American who wishes to emigrate to another country. We can absolutely validate those requirements having lived in Mexico ourselves. Additionally, to become part of the fabric of our country, any country for that matter, learning the language, at least cursorily, is necessary.

No doubt you have seen anchors, hosts, reporters, commentators, and guests on mainstream media television expressing their opinions on the need for The Wall. It never fails to boggle our minds that the word LEGAL in reference to immigration is rarely mentioned. Why? Well, they all know that The Wall would prevent ILLEGAL immigration and thereby their ILLEGAL support at the polls. Expediency is the real motivation of their purported compassionate position on immigration.

When we build The Wall in its entirety, there will exist a strong, physical demarcation. The Wall will unquestionably establish our sovereign control, our commitment to national interest and self-preservation, an impediment to anything or anyone that wishes to harm us, an impenetrable border that states, "This is the United States of America. The Rule of Law--American Law--is adhered to within."
