According to a Fox News Report, “Deutsche Bundesbank, the nation’s central monetary authority, made a last-minute decision to stop the payment, caving to demands from the White House that European allies clamp-down on the Islamic Republic.”

A second wave of U.S. sanctions against the regime, which is expected to affect banks and Iran’s energy sector, is expected in November.
